Here's my Mom's 200 year old waffle maker.
I took a break from my chocolate chip waffle to take this picture. (It's on a clear glass plate.) In a world where so many things change constantly, it's nice to have some things stay the same.

Perhaps more than things remaining the same: I know my parents' held on to tools if they served their purpose, a choice based on utility. My mother, too, had a waffle iron (different brand). It worked and everything made on it tasted like 'home'. Why buy a new one?
