Sky's Family Flies Home to Juneau
Sky's little sister got the ok to leave the hospital today. Everyone was happy. Here Dad shows her off after having fed the baby while Mom is packing her stuff.
After finishing the bottle, she looks pretty contented.
And after getting outside for the first time in her life, she also had her first car ride. First to our house, then a second ride to the airport and home to Juneau.

Oh Steve-- you are so blessed to have met this beautiful little angel-on-earth! I suppose you never read Anne of Green Gables-- it's really a chick novel, a classic, but women are more into it. She referred to babies as "little bundles of potentialities." I look at babies and think of how they will see things that I may never know, learning and going fast into the future and creating worlds we may never see. (Do you wonder why I've had so many?)
ReplyDeleteHow big was she when she was born? Weight? Length?
I can tell that Sky-Guy is going to be a fantastic brother to her!
Oh-- and best wishes to her mom on recovering!
ReplyDeleteThat's a little baby! Was she a preemie?
ReplyDeleteTea, she was 5 lbs something when she was born on July 4. She was over 6 when she left the hospital.
ReplyDeleteVisitor - she was five weeks early, which is why they flew to Anchorage to have the baby from Juneau.
My NICU baby took 3 months to get up to six pounds and he is still a slow eater. He is built like a little bird! (The doctors didn't panic-- it's a family curve.)
ReplyDeleteThis little girl is precious. TeaCup was standing next to me and kissed her finger and touched the screen to her pretty rosebud lips!
{sigh} I want to get pregnant again. ;) I miss tiny babies in the house, but I must look forward to grandparenthood!
