AIFF 2025

The 2025 Festival is over.  But I'll still put up a few more posts  about films I saw.  There are a few good ones that got passed up for awards and should be mentioned.

See today's post - link below.

You can find links to my overview pages of past festivals under Labels in the far right column at the bottom.  It starts with AIFF2011.  (There are some posts on earlier festivals, but I hadn't set up tables yet.)

Sunday, December 07, 2025.   AIFF2025: Witty Youngman, Saturday Thoughts, It's Cold!

The post has six points plus a bit more.  Starts with video of Witty Youngman playing guitar and singing, my festival highlight so far.  It's worth opening this post just to hear Witty.   Then it talks about films I've seen - Brut,  In The Wake of Justice Delayed, Remaining Indian, Drink And Be Merry, Fucktoys, and Thriller Shorts.

Saturday, December 06, 2025 - AIFF 2025: Great Opening Night With Film Burt

The festival began well with a quirky and very original film about a man with Parkinson's Disease.  There are pictures and a brief video of the Q&A with Director Joe Burke.  Also a nod to singer Witty Youngman who played guitar and sang after the film.

This post is a disclosure statement about my relationship with German Nikolas Mühe and Austria Katrine Eichberger, the film makers of The World Outside (Draußen die Welt). There are pictures of them at the Bear Tooth, the museum, Campbell Airstrip, and with Professor Emerita of German Margritt Engel.  Their film doesn't show until next Friday - Dec. 12 - at 8:30 pm at the Alaska Experience Theater.

Thursday, December 04, 2025 - AIFF2025 - Sunday's Features

Presents a look what people are saying about the feature films playing Sunday that I haven't mentioned elsewhere  -

Tuesday, November 18, 2025AIFF2025: Festival Passes, Nazi Art Thief, Remaining Native Or Not
Notes that all film passes are now available, but that there was a limited number, so get yours soon.  Also notes that the online schedule lists "Jewish Museum Feature" only.  So I've added a bit of background to that film (Plunderer: The Life and Times of a Nazi Art Thief.)  Also a bit on Remaining Native and You're No Indian  - two films that seemed to go together.

Some background info on:  Ellie, But I'm A Shoe, Guanaco, Lemon, Breaking The Tide, and Chasing Fins.

Intro to festival website and, based on film screenshots on the site, some added info on The Ladder, Dark Matter, The Mariana Trench, Death In The Desert, and Hearts of Stone.
