Later, and even later

Here it is out of the oven.

And after dinner.

The guests have gone. We had a nice night with good friends, one new friend.

  3. I am starting to dislike meat. I have weird thoughts as I prepare turkeys. My husband's mantra is that he "needs" meat. If he didn't do that I'd not be a meat eater any more.

I don't know why he says it-- it's like I know how he feels. For our faith we are supposed to eat vegetarian two nights a week at least and right now we are supposed to not be eating meat. I need to tell him to never ever say that again and get on with cooking.

  4. Anon, If your husband liked the movie the Matrix, have him watch the Meatrix which SzélsőFa mentioned in a comment on the Bird Bath post.

But as someone who has managed to stay married to the same woman for a long time, I'd suggest you try to not challenge his eating meat. That will only make most men more resistant to change. I'd just say, "That's fine, but I don't want to eat meat that much. I really don't like handling it even. But since you like it, I'll cook it for you twice a week, but if you need it more often than that, you can cook it yourself." That at least respects his wish for meat, but also asserts your own need to not have meat. Unless he thinks you should follow all his wishes. Then you're in trouble. :)
