Alaska COVID-19 Count Monday May 11, 2020 - 4 New Cases, 1 New Hospitalization, 1 New Recovery

This is the first time in two weeks we've had more than 3 new cases.  During that time we've had one day with zero new cases,  six days with just one new case, three days with two new cases, and two days with three new cases.

There's also a new hospitalization.  Last time there was a new hospitalization there was a death the next day (May 5 and 6).

Is this a quirk?  Or the results of people enjoying the loosening of restrictions?  We'll see.  Lots of people are either skeptical or don't really understand how this thing works.  When I bike, I'm the only one with a mask.  Our numbers are low and it's easy to get complacent.  Or stir crazy.  I think about how relatively good we have it, and particularly my wife and myself.  I think, though about people who've been in refugee camps for years, people locked up on the border for trying to get their legal asylum cases heard.  People in the space station.  In Alaska, at least, we have plenty of room to be outside with few people around.

The screen shot above is high resolution so you can click on them to enlarge and focus.  If you think they're getting longer and skinnier, you're right.  I think it's because they're adding new dates horizontally, particularly in the lower left graph.  Click here if you want to use the chart interactively, to play with the original and other charts they have.
