Propaganda Techniques

To get a little perspective on political propaganda, check out this video. I'm guessing it is 1950's vintage. Things have gotten a lot more sophisticated.

But, it still doesn't hurt to use their checklist:
1. Recognize the technique
2. Get the facts
3. Know the purpose
4. Weigh the facts against the purpose and techniques

I found this YouTube video on a Barcelona blog that had linked to my blog.

  1. I think I saw this while I was studying commercial art. It's why I left it after one semester-- people are too gullible.

I am thinking of Jack Frost's voice in commercials since the 1980's. The radio ads with people sounding like good little soccer moms saying en mass, "Way to go --- ------!"

Over the years, I've started saving political ads. It's great to see what people say about each other then who they support later.
