Alaska COVID-19 Count Saturday April 25, 2020 - NO NEW CASES!!

For the first time since March 16, 2020, there were no new cases yesterday!   The only number that went up was the number of recoveries - 217 - up 9 from the previous day.  This is great news.  Two weeks of no new cases plus ramped up testing to make sure the virus isn't lurking among the asymptomatic, and we're good.  Of course, with people traveling in and out of the state, we have to continue being vigilant.  My daughter sent an article that argues that if 80% of people wear masks, we can halt the spread of the disease.  Most masks on infected people will stop the spread from them.  Protecting from the droplets takes better masks.

Hospital and dead figures are total to date, not new on that date

I got an email from a reader saying that the email version of the blog was going crazy with the State charts. It does seem that by now, regular readers have seen that chart enough to know if they want to play with all the interactive abilities.   So I'll just put up the screen shot to record the basic numbers and a link to the State site where you can see the interactive chart, plus several more.  Here's the link to the State Charts.  Unless anyone wants me to keep posting it.

Click on this one to enlarge and focus and go to the State site to interact with it and see the data in more detail as well as other cool charts.  As you can see here today - I've clicked on the "New Cases" option in the top right of the chart instead of leaving the default "Total Cumulative Cases."  Also, in the test chart (to the left of Hospitalizations and Deaths) I go to total cumulative tests and then open the previous day's number.  I'm doing that because they've adjusted previous day numbers, sometimes radically.
