Anchorage International Film Festival 2016

The festival will be December 2 - 11, 2016.   Here's the official AIFF 2016 Festival site.

Part 1: What's Happening Today?

UPDATED Friday, Jan 27 2017

Today I put up my suggestions for the festival organizers for next year.

Jan 8,  I put up some video from the Q&A after the films on GayLa night - with Alex Myung (Arrival) and Bennett Wallace (Real Boy) answering questions from the audience.

I've also updated this page.  I'd gotten distracted and there were some posts missing.  I think I've got them all up now.

But I want to add a number of posts in the next couple of weeks.
  • I have some video of film maker Q&As I need to edit and post.
    • Alex Myung and Bennett Wallace   (Done Jan 8)
    • The First Girl I Loved Q&A
    • The Happys Q&A
    • No Land or Water In Sight Q&A
  • I'd like to share my winners compared to the festival choices and my reasons.[Done Dec 20]
  • A post on the portrayal of women in the features.
  • Some suggestions for the festival for next year.  (Jan 27)

Overall, it was a pretty well  run festival with a lot of outstanding films and some neat musical programing that fit well with the films.  There were a lot of filmmakers and we had snow and some 0˚F weather to match the festival theme - Films Worth Freezing For.

I have a list of the award winners with pictures from the Award Ceremony (as well as from earlier in the festival) of winners and some festival volunteers.
