Bohemian Waxwings Visit Our Mt. Ash Tree

We hadn't seen the waxwings all winter and our tree and beneath it were full of berries.  They came Sunday.  They're such beautiful birds.

  1. Sometime ago I happened to take pictures of an unidentified bird outside my house. I didn't think much of it. That is until I stumbled upon this blog post.
I have photos of a very similar looking bird. They are very similar except the one near my house did not have the yellow and red on the wing tips.

  2. Bill, I don't know where you live, that could make a difference. The Bohemian waxwings are common in Anchorage. If you're just looking at the photo, it's possible you got an angle where the wing color doesn't show. Perhaps yours is a cedar waxwing, which I've never seen live.
