To get a little perspective on political propaganda, check out this video. I'm guessing it is 1950's vintage. Things have gotten a lot more sophisticated.
But, it still doesn't hurt to use their checklist:
1. Recognize the technique
2. Get the facts
3. Know the purpose
4. Weigh the facts against the purpose and techniques

I think I saw this while I was studying commercial art. It's why I left it after one semester-- people are too gullible.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of Jack Frost's voice in commercials since the 1980's. The radio ads with people sounding like good little soccer moms saying en mass, "Way to go --- ------!"
Over the years, I've started saving political ads. It's great to see what people say about each other then who they support later.
