Maybe just how much should be in one post. And while I believe strongly in tying seemingly disparate ideas together, it's hard to do in a way that doesn't leave people way behind.

But I will look more carefully into the link - go look at the link to how to put links in your comment cause it's really not that hard and increases greatly the odds people will link to it - which definitely looks like digging deeper. Thanks. Take one more step.

http://prosperouswaydown.com/climate-euphemism-growth/Mary Loganhttp://prosperouswaydown.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30897652.post-86580925840690186082012-09-29T01:42:02.129-08:002012-09-29T01:42:02.129-08:00Mary, Thanks. Sorry, not sure what it is that attracts blogger's spam detection.

This was a post about contrasting world views about human-nature relationships. I brought Romney in to give some current context to what has been happening in the Russian Far East. And I mentioned Obama because I didn't want to let him off the hook on this.

But I didn't intend this as a post about who people should vote for, at least not directly. I was just trying to dig a little deeper about the differences in these world views and how that affects us.

I understand how you can take it one step further, and perhaps, that is the next natural step, that there is an alternative. And, yes, Alaskans can vote for a third party candidate without being blamed for losing the election for one of the parties, because there's no doubt who will get Alaska's electoral vote. That said, I generally prefer to let my readers take those next steps on their own. My vote does not count for president anyway in this state, so I will make the more valuable statement that politics and business as usual are done for and vote for the Green Party platform.

A vote for Obama is a vote for the United States of Goldman Sachs and all it stands for.

http://www.gp.org/committees/platform/2012/ecological-sustainability.php#NuclearMary Loganhttp://www.prosperouswaydown.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30897652.post-88021022361136301332012-09-27T16:13:20.963-08:002012-09-27T16:13:20.963-08:00Thanks Mary. Romney, I tried to word my Obama point carefully.

"I'm not excusing Obama in this either, though he does, at least, talk about the need to stop global climate change and protect the environment."

You're right that he's doing many of the same things and that's why I raised his name here. But I get the sense that Obama at least knows about the environmental issues and that he's decided that his reelection hangs on jobs. If he goes too heavily toward environment he'd lose the election and climate-change denial would rule DC. Is knowledge without serious action better? We can only hope that in a second term he'll be more aggressive on climate change. We don't have good choices, nor do the politicians, who also have to raise money to win and then owe their funders. The rich business interests have structured it so they can't lose - except their souls.

Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10498066938213558757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30897652.post-27951693720913452472012-09-27T11:15:02.562-08:002012-09-27T11:15:02.562-08:00This is a great read, Steve. But I have one question for you--how is Obama different, if he mandates that our economy must continue to grow, ad infinitum?Mary Loganhttp://prosperouswaydown.comnoreply@blogger.com
